Psalm 87, written by the sons of Korah, speaks lovely things about Zion, the city of God. In a prophetic sense it speaks of salvation and the beautiful eternal city loved and established by God that welcomes citizens whose birth is recorded there. The Psalm ends with verse 7:
“Singers and dancers alike say,
‘All my springs are in you.’ ” (ESV).
Verse 7 proclaims the sole source of the singers’ songs and the dancers’ dances can be found in this glorious city of God. Their singing and dancing does not come from ideas floating through the air or self-introspection; they come from a place – a lovely place, a miraculous place, a place like the world has never seen, a place God established on the blood of Christ, a place where God dwells.
